SPECIAL TOPICS IN HEALTH POLICY AND MANAGEMENT

Course Overview
This course is designed for new doctoral students at the Institute of Health Policy and Management. It consists of four building blocks. The first is a warm-up concerning the nature of education, public health, and academic research. The second deals with the health system, including social changes, health transition, health care reforms, health promotion and health for all movement. The third is: Know Your Professors - provides a unique opportunity for students to learn more about the faculty, including their research life and thoughts. The fourth is: Know Yourself - students will present their profile and career dream through a term paper.
 

課程目標
At the end of this course students should be able to:
1. describe the nature of education, public health, and academic research;
2. illustrate social transformation of health system and health for all movement;
3. describe individual faculty’s current research interest and their significant professional works.
 
課程要求
This course meets for two hours once a week and is conducted mainly as a participatory seminar. Students are expected to read the required readings and prepare a one-page note before the class. On January 18, 2022, students have to submit a term paper describing "Who am I? Where do I come from? and What is my career dream?". Students will be graded according to their performance in one-page note (30%), class participation (40%), and the term paper (30%).
